!Please, just because I have more prompts or more to say about a fandom (or prompt) doesn’t mean I want it more, it just means that I have more to say. I want all of these equally!

In terms of gifts written for me, I’m all for ‘Optional Details are Optional’ – if you have an idea for one of the fandoms or characters I’m asking for that doesn’t fit with my prompts, but you think is awesome please, write me that awesome fic! Along those lines, if a prompt I give for one character or situation really inspires you for another character or situation run with it – you’ve probably just thought of something I’d love to get and never even thought to ask for, which will make the fic even more fun.

Along those lines, this being an exchange with a low minimum word count I encourage you to embrace that! I’ve got no problem with getting longer fics (I love longer fics), but if you have an idea for a single, exactly 300 word scene that’s just a moment out of one of my prompts, please, go for it!

Prototype

Robert Cross/Alex Mercer: Cross is my favorite character, I’m not afraid to admit that. I'm a shameless Blackwatch fangirl and I always love horrible things happening to him and him fighting his way out of them, one way or another, I know for this to happen the fic has to be an AU and I’m totally okay with that.

I’m up for noncom where Alex is the aggressor, especially if it plays up predatory instincts and the notion that he’s not human.

Alternately, Cross unintentionally initiates things with some offhanded comment that Alex takes the wrong way and things escalate from there.

Or hell, give me something absolutely horrific that hews a little closer to the events of the game where Cross is infected, attacks Alex and things get interesting. Shapeshifting, inhuman anatomy, tentacles, not to mention blood and violence are welcome in any of the above situations.

Or, if you want to write something gen, expand on the conversation they have in game, go into detail about Cross obsessively pursuing Alex or whatever you like. I know the prompt is for a / pairing, but if you want to write it as & I will not complain one bit.

 

Elizabeth Greene/Alex Mercer: Alex and Greene is another favorite, especially if because of messed up inhuman instincts Alex ends up being the aggressor, even if it takes a little pushing from Greene to get him there. Violence is very fun with those two because of what they can survive and messy, bloody, terrible scenes are very appealing with them. Make it inhuman, brutal, and wrong.

On the other hand Greene is even farther removed from human than Alex is and has drives and instincts of her own, as well as motives likely driven by the virus. Delving into that and having her use Alex as a means to an end would be awesome.

If you write these two since they can survive pretty much anything I’m okay with things getting violent, really, really violent. Like if someone ends up disemboweled, intestines torn out, flesh writhing as it struggles to knit around claws embedded in it. So yeah, as long as both parties survive you can do anything.

Anything.

Go wild with inhuman biology and anatomy.

 

Alex Mercer & Dana Mercer: Fluff and family feels please? I was thinking childhood memories, flashbacks to happier times together (though hints that something was wrong with Alex even then would be great if you want to write that). If you don’t want to ignore P2 you can frame it as Dana looking back and trying to make sense of things, because that’s some angst I’d totally love to see, especially if it’s part of her moving on. Or ignore P2 and give me something post P1 where the two of them are on the run, having narrow escapes or mundane adventures. Maybe they’re on the road and Dana desperately wants to swing by and see a particular tourist trap?

 

Biohazard | Resident Evil

Annette Birkin/William Birkin: Just two absolutely awful people in love, or getting to know each other, or talking at work about their respective projects, or trying to be good parents or pretty much anything. Somehow, I always got the feeling that these two genuinely did love each other, Annette pulling William out of depression, the two of them sticking together right up until the end, despite how out of control things got, the fact that they actually had and raised Sherry! If you want to mention Sherry in this fic go for it, I’d love to see Anette and William trying (and mostly succeeding?) to be good parents.

Fluff is fine, horror is fine (I never, ever object to horror in any context), and in this situation I’m fine if the fic includes William’s canonical death – because what if his last thoughts were of Annette and how much he really did care for her? Did he try (and fail) at fighting the G-virus for her sake? Or heck, give me a weird AU where he did manage to retain his sanity for a time (or permanently) and come back to his family.

 

Claire Redfield & Sherry Birkin: I’m in a fluffy mood, okay? Claire spending time with Sherry after the events of RE2, trying to comfort her, let her live like a normal kid, anything. Heck, give me an AU where Claire adopts Sherry and had to try and balance being a single mom to a precocious child with being a badass zombie killer. The idea of Sherry trying to find some semblance of normalcy after everything and Claire trying to help her (because I get the feeling that Claire also has a skewed perspective of normal) just makes me smile.

And me being me, I’m okay with darker stuff too, if you want to do an AU where Sherry’s infection with the G-virus has after effects I’ll be quite happy.

 

Chris Redfield & Claire Redfield:  With this I was thinking, what were the Redfield siblings like before the events of the series, as kids, as young adults, at the moment where they finally went their separate ways. I tend to imagine that there was something crazy about their childhood that got them to where they were in the games and I love seeing the different ways people imagine it all.

Or I’m totally up for something set during canon, a phone call where one’s checking in to make sure the other’s okay. A chance meeting somewhere and they each get to catch up on what the other’s been up to. Heck, they end up in a bad situation together, each one trying to protect the other, despite them being fully capable of taking care of themselves.

 

Chris Redfield/Jill Valentine: I will take literally anything with these two – tender moments together when they’re off-duty, ‘I can’t believe we’re alive’ sex after a mission, not even a hint of romance as they’re entirely professional during a mission, the two of them being badass together and fighting their way through hordes of zombies or dealing with even more dangerous B.O.W.s, all of it set at any point before, during or after canon.

If you want to do something plotless and smutty go for it! Vanilla sex, kinky stuff (who’s the kinky one, what are their kinks? Feel free to go wild and surprise me by using your favorite applicable kinks!), anything!

I also enjoy AUs where one of the characters ends up infected and fics about dealing with the consequences (especially if those consequences involve intimacy because one half of the equation is willing to experiment or is surprisingly into that kind of thing)

 

Carlos Oliveira/Jill Valentine: After playing the RE2 remake through a second time I realized that these two have great chemistry and I really, really like them as a couple. Not sure what I want other than pretty much anything – missing scenes from the game, post-game ‘I can’t believe we’re alive’ sex, an AU where Carlos and Jill stick together after the events of the game and the adventures they go on from there, or a chance meeting between the two of them at some nebulous point in the future. I just love Carlos, scruffy, snarky bastard that he is.

 

Final Fantasy X Series

Rikku & Wakka: These two are hilarious and make me so happy. I’d love something set during the game while Yuna is on her pilgrimage and the two of them are trying to keep everyone’s spirits up, or a missing scene before or after Wakka learns that Rikku is an Al Bhed where she tries to get him to examine and get over his biases (in a funny way please, I’d rather not get a serious talk about racism and bigotry). I’d like something more lighthearted and silly if that’s the kind of thing you’re interested in writing.

Or maybe after the events of the game Wakka wants to get to know Rikku better after all they’ve been through together and shows a genuine interest in learning about Al Bhed culture. If you’re in the mood for world building this would be the place for it. Honestly, if you just want to use these to as an excuse to delve into the setting I’m totally fine with that. The world of Spira and its peoples were fascinating to me and I’d love to just see more of that.

 

Auron & Yuna: Auron the legendary guardian and Yuna, the Summoner, or, depending on when you set this, future Summoner. I just want conversation between the two of them, Yuna asking questions about the Pilgrimage, her father, anything. Maybe him trying to comfort her after returning from the Pilgrimage? Again, I’m fine with this being used as a framework for worldbuilding and you delving into your favorite aspects of the setting.

 

Auron & Braska & Jecht: I’d love to see Auron and Jecht butting heads, Braska acting to keep the peace and the adventure that their Pilgrimage must have been. Give me humor with Jecht being a fish out of water, encountering things that should be impossible to him, or give me serious moments of introspection as Jecht comes to terms with his situation. Heck, just give me a scene from one of their adventures and I will be happy.

 

Jecht & Yunalesca: What was the conversation that lead up to Jecht becoming Braska’s Final Aeon? Was Yunalesca surprised to see him? Was she the one to tell him the truth about his situation or had he learned beforehand? And what was the ritual that made him the Aeon like? I’m not one to shy away from horror of any sort, so if that’s the direction you want to take things here please do.

 

Final Fantasy XII

Balthier/Fran: Set this any time during or before the game. I love Fran so much and because of that I love Balthier. Anything you want to write about these two I promise that I’ll love. How they met for the first time? Awesome! An adventure they went on before the events of the game? You can bet I’ll have fun reading it. A plotless smut scene? Yeah, that’s hot for sure! Fran learning about Hume culture or Balthier being surprised by things he didn’t know about Viera? I am all for the worldbuilding! If you have odd headcanons about Viera culture, biology, sexuality, anything, this is the place to write it because I want to see it. Consider this not just opting into whatever it is you want to write, but doing so enthusiastically!

 

Darkest Dungeon

Abomination/Vestal: I love tormented characters who happen to be in one way or another monsters. I love badass women. I love this pairing because it gives me both. You can give me smut, you can give me gen, as long as these two are the focus of the piece. As for prompts, I do wonder how the two of them might come to be in a relationship, was it curiosity, the Abomination looking for help, the Vestal offering it? Alternately, give me something set in the thick of the action of a fight, one of them protecting or comforting the other, maybe the Vestal trying to talk the Abomination back after transforming? The two of them swapping stories around the fire or in the tavern, trying to relax and recuperate after a particularly bad time?

Or if you want to go for noncom and horror, have the Abomination transform and have his way with her. If you do I’d love it if she fights back and puts a hurting on him, because the victim fighting back in noncom scenarios is something I adore.

 

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough/Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon: I love this movie, I love this pairing. I’ve asked for it in previous exchanges and this year Chocolate Box made me remember how much I love it. Alex and Bethany as Jefferson McDonough and Shelly Oberon are wonderfully awkward and endearing and I love the whole aspect of the two of them only knowing each other as their Jumanji avatars. I’d love a missing scene between the two of them, an AU where they spend more time in the game or get stuck, or anything. Humor is always a plus here, as is videogame logic being used (bonus zones, hidden areas, powerups, Easter eggs, puzzles that would only make sense in a game, anything like that).

This is a kind of soft DNW that’s specific to this fandom, but I’d prefer if Bethany isn’t depicted as trans or having any kind of gender or body dysmorphia in this situation. Little, light comments about the awkwardness of things or that she’s really a girl are fine, I just don’t want anything heavy in this fandom. Thank you so much and I apologize if my asking this is awkward for you.

 

 

Calvin & Hobbes

This is just a general statement about these prompts that I nearly forgot to mention – if you want to do art for any of these prompts I would love to see a Calvin and Hobbes style situation in any art style given how often the comics would mix up the art for comedic effect. If you have an anime style I would love to see Calvin, Hobbes and Susie as the most anime characters you can draw, if you like water colors some of the larger, Sunday page scenes would be perfect for that, if you like bold colors and high contrast when you’re making art it would work so well with the kind of frantic energy that Calvin possesses.

 

Calvin & Hobbes: All of my nostalgia, please! Childhood innocence, wild imaginations, zany adventures made out of mundane situations. Just like anything goes in Calvin Ball (the best game because it’s named after Calvin) anything goes here. Do they go to another planet? Climb a mountain (make a mountain out of a molehill when trying to explain the reason for the mess in the kitchen)? Fight off something even worse than snowgoons (what even is worse than snowgoons?) Navigate an otherwise boring everyday situation in the hilarious sort of way that only Calvin can manage?

 

Mr. Bun & Susie Derkins: Okay, Susie has to have adventures of her own, she can keep up with Calvin and give as good as she gets after all, but what kind of adventures are they? How did Susie first meet Mr. Bun? It he the troublemaker and she the reasonable one?

 

Hobbes & Susie Derkins: Why is Hobbes with Susie? Are the two of them trying to rescue Calvin from the kind of danger that only he can imagine? How did she end up with Hobbes in the first place – does she even see Hobbes for what he is and if not, how does that influence their adventure?

 

Calvin & Hobbes & Susie Derkins: A crazy adventure these three all together? Yes, please! Why is Susie accompanying them? Did she get dragged into it by Calvin, go because Hobbes convinced her, decide that she needed to keep the two out of trouble? Or is it because she wants an adventure of her own? Where on or off Earth do they go (and when considering a good sturdy cardboard box works quite well as a time machine) and what do they do there?

For some reason I always have the mental image of Calvin and Susie pooling their pocket change to buy a whole box of old books at a yard sale down the street and adventures starting from there, but it could be anything that gets the adventure going.

 

Calvin & Calvin's Mother: Family feels! Calvin’s long suffering mother marveling at his mischief, or perhaps subtly encouraging it  - someone had to make him his Stupendous Man cape after all, and get him all those toy dinosaurs and books about pretty much everything. Or even just a quiet and sincere moment between the two of them. Maybe an adult Calvin looking back at all the things his mother did for him and how much it shaped him growing up?

Basement Creature & Family: There’s something about the sincerity of this that makes it more cute than creepy, like I get the feeling that the monster is genuinely concerned about the family that might (or might not!) be moving away. Why does it care? Does it feel it has a special relationship with the family that unknowingly shares a home with it? Is it unique or are there many monsters out there, unknown to people everywhere? I’d like something that’s creepy, but cute, if you don’t mind. Otherwise, horror is fine by me. Or humor, humor centered around a terrified family and a well-meaning monster would be great!

 

Maintenance Tunnel Explorer & Maintenance Tunnel Missed Connection Creature: The monster doesn’t seem hostile, just curious. Did it think it found a kindred spirit down in those tunnels, a fellow explorer or photographer?  Does the explorer think when they find the ad? Do they return? Again, fluff and creepy feels are great, but so is horror. I just love the idea of monsters who aren’t necessarily hostile living alongside people, unseen and unknown.

 

Original Works

Spotted Hyena Woman/Human Woman Who Doesn't Know Much About Hyenas: Spotted hyenas are my favorite animal. I think they’re adorable and I find their intelligence, social structure and anatomy fascinating. That they have completely masculinized anatomy is something I’d like to have come up with in this piece, but the degree to which is up to you. This is where I need to mention that, if you’re in the mood for smut I am opting into what’s technically sounding on account of a hyena’s anatomy being penetrable.

The setting and situation can be anything, fantasy where they’re adventuring companions together (or one is a captive of the other, especially if grudging respect is an element of their relationship), urban fantasy where a personal ad leads to an interesting encounter, scifi with anything from aliens to uplifted animals to genetic engineering to cyberpunk settings are great!

Basically, just give me a surprising (and hopefully romantic) encounter between these two. Or if you’re not feeling that kind of thing, just give me the awesome adventures of a spotted hyena woman and her human friend.

 

Spotted Hyena Woman/Human Woman Who Is Into That: See the above, but the pseudo penis isn’t a surprise!

 

Lighthouse Keeper/Mermaid: Lighthouses are an awesome setting, so remote, isolated and with such a sense of duty placed upon the keeper. Stormy nights, crashing waves, the occasional ship passing in the distance of a rocky, isolated coast. And then, somehow meeting a mermaid. I don’t care if the keeper is a man or a woman, write whatever is most comfortable to you, and feel free to get creative with what your mermaids are like in terms of culture and appearance – I love all the exotic, strange and colorful fish that are out there. I wonder how they might have met, is it strange for a mermaid to let herself be seen by a human, or are they a known part of life by the sea? At the same time I would love a scene of the two of them in their day to day lives.

 

Sapient Bonobo Matriarch/Her Human Princess Bride: This is so absolutely adorable! I love the implication that the bonobo is older than the princess, a kindly old matriarch welcoming a frightened stranger to her people. Tell me about the day to day lives of these two, the differences in their cultures, anything and everything about them. I’d love to know about their relationship, but the story behind it fascinates me as well. Was it out of love despite the difference in age and species? Was it political? Were they willing from the start or did they learn to love each other?

 

Sapient Female Orangutan Healer/Injured Human Female Explorer: Orangutans are my absolute favorite great apes! Living their solitary lives in the jungles, with their amazing knowledge of the trees of the territory they inhabit it would make sense that one of them would be a healer, knowing when and where all the medicinal plants are growing and how to best harvest them. And the explorer in her territory, how did she end up there? Was she seeking the healer, or was it luck alone that brought them together? I’d love a fantasy setting here, but if you have an idea for a scifi situation or anything else, please, I want to see the lovely world that these two inhabit. Maybe they decide to go on adventures together once the explorer recovers?

 

Beloved Princess of the Realm & Newly-Hatched Dragon who Imprints Upon Her: I’d like something cute and full of feels is a fantasy setting here. Is it unusual for a dragon to imprint of a princess or is it a rite of passage proving that she’s fit to be queen someday? Are dragons used for battle or are they simply a sign of royalty. Or are dragons hated and feared, the imprinting happening purely by chance? How does the princess raise the dragon in any of those situations? What’s it like to be imprinted on by a dragon and just how smart are dragons? And how fast do they grow? Flying lessons for the two of them would be amazing! But so would royal politicking, all of the royal politicking, but with a baby (or precocious juvenile) dragon!

 

Demi-god(dess) & Their Faithful Canine Companion That Makes Them Feel More Human: Why does the dog help them feel human? Is it because their divine parent isn’t in any way human? How did she end up with the dog and is it an ordinary dog or something more? I’m curious about the world they live in, their experiences in it, and their life straddling the worlds of mortal and the divine. Any worldbuilding you want to do would be greatly appreciated, as would scenes from the day to day life of the pair.

 

Goddess of Endless Night & Priestess of a Dying Sun: I can see this just as easily happening in a scifi setting as a fantasy one. I know this has so much potential for angst, but I’d really, really love some sort of comforting conversation between the goddess and priestess, helping her face what’s to come. Also, a sun lasts for an immensely long time, so the death of this one could be thousands of lifetimes away, or more, which might not be a concern to the priestess (or the sun), only to the goddess as a century is the same as an instant to her. Worldbuilding, mythology, cosmology, anything you want to delve into would be great.

 

Superhero Parent & Supervillain Child: Seeing this come up in the original works tag made me laugh and it really is a great idea for a humor piece. Is the child a rebellious teenager trying to have their own identity (that’s not a secret identity!) or are the grown child of a superheroic family that had a falling out with their parents (do both parents know of their villainy)? Does this come up when they’re both in costume or out of costume at a family gathering? I love comic book logic, over-the-top characters and situations and zany secret hero and villain concepts (if you see this and want to do art – bright colors or bold lines like something out of an older comic books would be so cool!)

A whole story, a single scene of the two, anything! I just want some good, clean fun here.

 

Time Traveler & Prehistoric Tribe They Get Stranded With: The time traveler can come from any point in history and the tribe can be from anywhere you want. Don’t worry about real history here (though if there’s an area and time period you’re an expert on I will be in awe), just write what makes you happy. With this one I don’t want angst, I want to see the time traveler making the best of a bad situation, making friends with the tribe and figuring a place for themselves, living their best life despite everything.

I don’t want to see the time traveler depicted as ignorant or arrogant, rather I want them to be a good person, stuck in a difficult situation that they overcome as best as they are able.

 

Lonely Kid & Their Collection of Magical Miniature Horses That Comes to Life: I’d really appreciate if the fic focuses on the small magic of the horses rather than the loneliness.  I also don’t want the situation to end with the horses just being toys – I want them to be real, living creatures! The mundane juxtaposed with the magical world that they inhabit and that the kid has somehow found a way into. How did the kid get the horses, what kind of adventures does having them result in, how do you take care of magical horses? Those are the kinds of things I’d like to see here.

 

Civilization of Tiny People Living in Kid's Backyard & Lonely Kid: As above, but with little people. How does the child find them, what level of advancement is the civilization (stone age, modern, future, magical)? Does the kid have to protect them? Are they doing fine on their own? Does the kid have particular friends among them? If you want to worldbuild, going into detail about how this tiny civilization came to exist in the backyard and the minutia of its culture and the day to day lives of its people I will eat that up!

 

Kid & Their Collection of Miniature Dinosaurs That Comes to Life: As with the horse prompt, but with dinosaurs. They can be scaly, feathery, colorful, drab, realistic, something straight out of your imagination, anything as long as the focus of the piece isn’t how alone the kid is and that the dinosaurs truly are alive. I don’t want them to just be the kid’s imagination I want them to be real, please!

 

Herd of miniature flying horses & horse-crazy kid: Another prompt in a similar vein, again, I want the horses to be real, living creatures. Though something I just realized, there’s nothing that implies that this one is set in our world – maybe the kid lives in some fantasy setting and has somehow ended up taking care of these wonderful, magical creatures and it’s an important and respected kid. Otherwise I can totally see this set in a world just one step removed from ours, one where tiny, magical flying horses exist.
